Oral pathology

Soft tissues — including the cheeks, tongue, lips, and palate — can develop changes for a variety of reasons. Some are harmless and temporary; others may need monitoring or follow-up. Our job is to examine these areas carefully, explain what we see, and help you understand the significance of any findings.

What we look at

We assess:

  • Areas of irritation or persistent redness
  • Colour changes or patches
  • Persistent ulcers or sore spots
  • Lumps, bumps, or texture differences
  • Anything that doesn’t look like your usual baseline

If something needs special attention, we review it with you immediately, outline what may be causing it, and recommend appropriate next steps.

Clear guidance, not confusion

Most soft-tissue changes are benign, but assessing them early gives you clarity and peace of mind. If a biopsy or referral is appropriate, we explain exactly why and help coordinate the process so nothing feels overwhelming.
